Learn To Row

At Maritime Rowing Club, our Learn-to-Row program consists of two levels. Level I is an introductory course, where you will learn the basics of rowing in eight 1 1/2 hour lessons. Water safety, basic skills, rules of navigation and general rowing fitness are all covered in this course.

Level II is a continuation of Level I. You’ll learn basic boat rigging, advanced rowing techniques, and additional exercise for good rowing fitness. Water safety and navigation are reviewed as well.

Learn-to-Row students may be intermingled with more experienced rowers as they progress. After completing the Learn-to-Row program, they will row with the experienced rowers and can choose either a competitive or recreational program.

If you decide to join our club after you’ve taken a Learn-to-Row course, we’ll credit the Learn-to-Row fee toward your membership. The Learn-to-Row fees may be applied two times toward your annual membership fee.

Fees for the Learn-to-Row Program

  • Learn-To-Row 1 – $325 (per session, 8 lessons)
  • Learn-To-Row 2 – $325 (per session, 8 lessons)
